Drive to Yazd, en route visit Pasargadae, the site ofnthe simple but imposing tomb of Cyrus the Great” the Founder of the Persian Empire” and remains of his several palaces. Head to Persepolis, also visit Naghsh-e-Rostam to see Ka’be-Zardosht (fire temple/sanctuary), and Royal Tombs (also Achaemenid) and Sassanian rock-reliefs. On our way to Yazd, we visit Abaarkooh, the ancient city situated on the path of the world-renowned as Silk Road. In the evening, we spend pleasurable time in Yazd which is recognized as one of the oldest cities in the world; it is like a living museum. We will visit narrow alleys, the highest wind tower in the city which keeps the building cool. O/N in Yazd.
In the morning we will explore this ancient city and visit a Zoroastrian temple where a sacred fire has been kept burning for hundreds of years. This is now a Zoroastrian pilgrimage center. This is an opportunity to learn about Zoroastrianism which was the Persian religion until Arabs brought Islam to Iran. We visit the Towers of Silence on the city’s outskirts. This was a burial place for the Zoroastrians. Also visit the Friday Mosque (1324 A.D.) with the highest portal and minarets in Iran, with a walk through the old Fahadan quarter; O/N in Yazd.
Drive to Isfahan via Varzaneh Desert and catch the new experience in one of the memorable deserts, which ranked as one of the most accessible deserts of Iran. Have local food in a historical house (hotel). Touch the feeling of excitement with safari ride during the day. In the evening watch the eye-catching sunset and then stare at a mysterious sky, full of stars at night. Drive to Isfahan. O/N in Isfahan.
Now it’s time to visit Chehelsotoon palace, Hashtbehesht palace, Naqshejahan square” the second great square in the world”, with several sites (the Ali-Qapu Palace) and two of Islamic world’s greatest mosques – the Sheikh Lotfollah and the Shah – with magnificent architecture and then Qeisarieh Bazaar and handicraft workshop. A half day sightseeing of Isfahan to visit the magnificent Friday mosque which is considered a museum of thousand years of Persian religious architecture and it’s truly one of the world’s greatest mosque. Now, we will explore Jolfa Armenian quarter on foot and Vank cathedral, Finally, we won’t miss visiting local musical instruments in the music museum. O/N in Isfahan.
